The finer elements create shapes in each living space. The living room boasts circles glowing on the wall, reflected in the mirror and carved for the coffee table. A space for reading hosts triangles in the room partition and quilted ottoman chair legs. Looking from the kitchen, the spaces tie together through the lines of the bookshelves, black and white striped rug and white quilted couch.
The kitchen in this open design is just a step up from the living area. The two levels are a great way to separate the two spaces. Making them flow is the light wood cabinetry and platform steps that include drawers. Instead of using separate upholstered pieces, this designer has used upholsetery cushions and pillows to make seating. The kitchen island pendant lights share the same hue with the panel cabinet doors and dining table lighting fixture.
Another important element to any room, are the colors. You can’t have awfully bright or clashing colors in a room, otherwise it will not matter if you have the best furniture on the market, your home will not be stylish or homely. This apartment’s color scheme is warm and comforting, using many colors without becoming overwhelming.
