Have you ever considered painting your walls black? This paint color is a bold choice but can look so elegant. Exactly the opposite of white paint, dark paint makes your space feel tighter or cozier. While I might not recommend black for a small room, it can make a large living room feel more homey.
Choose elements that are neither harsh nor extreme. If this is going to be the primary space for guests, avoid colors that are too severe or gender specific as these could alienate some of your guests. Primary colors and neutrals are always a safe bet. Lighter, brighter colors work best in when used sparingly.
In a large living room, you can make a certain area stand out by using color. The seating area, for example, can feature a combination of turquoise armchairs, matching accent pillows and an area rug also incorporating the same color. For a living room with large windows, glass walls and a lot of natural sunlight, you can emphasize the brightness with simple and light colors. Pastels are really nice. The turquoise curtains look wonderful here and are reminiscent of the clear sky.
